Beeswax Alchemy – what’s in a name?

Beeswax Alchemy was not my first choice - Choosing a name for any business is tricky to say the least.

I started out with the name Walders Organic, which related to the place I live. I realised that this may not be my forever home, and that the term ‘organic’, although close to my heart, and my ethics, may be misleading as I am not certified organic and at this point in my business have no intention of becoming so.

Beeswax Alchemy was born.

I felt I needed ‘Beeswax’ in the title, as all my products relate to beeswax in some way. This was the easy part – finding a business name that was not already taken, finding a name that relates to that business. As I said beeswax was the easy part – but how to find a word that went well with it, and a title that was not in use by another business. Beeswax Alchemy – an alchemist is defined as a person who transforms or creates something through a seemingly magical process. I really do feel that beeswax is an amazing product, and that making beeswax candles, creams, salves and so many other uses, that Beeswax Alchemy really did make sense.

I found that there is a book called Beeswax Alchemy – something of a light read relating to Beeswax and beeswax products, and this is written in conjunction with a website Beehive Alchemy.

I am hoping that the fact you are reading this that you have found me – Beeswax Alchemy – based in Devon in the UK and are enjoying looking through my site. Please stay with me on my Beeswax Alchemy journey where my passion for natural products using beeswax continues, I will be perfecting the craft of candle making and widening my knowledge of all I can bring to Beeswax Alchemy in the form of new products and ventures.

As an aside – my name ‘Devin’ has origins in soothsaying, fortune telling and magical beings. I would like to think that I am a good match for Beeswax Alchemy.
